Long told among the many tales of the Appalachian Mountains is the store of the Santer Cat. Legends dating back long before Europeans set foot on our shores, the Native Americans of the Appalachians wove yarns of the existence of a Wendigo, half man, half mountain lion with a barbed tail. It was said the Santer walked both on all fours and upright and often stood over 6 feet tall. It roamed the hills and hollows of the Appalachians at night, seeking prey, both animal and human. It has been said the Santer's scream can chill the bones of any man, rendering him immobile. Native American drawings of the Santer can be found from precolonial times, and sightings and newspaper articles of it can be found up into the present. Here we've tried to bottle the spirit of this magical beast as a tribute to one of the magnificent legends of the Appalachians.
